ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

A special thank you to the poet, Laura Araujo S.  Her poem North, South, and the In Between was first released and featured as a collaboration with other artists in Jacalyn Lopez Garcia’s transmedia visual storytelling project, the LAND-artproject.com  This body of work premiered in July 2019 as part of her interactive gallery installations that are designed to create a space where  both physical and digital worlds can be accessed simultaneously.  Museum art patron are immediately transported to the project website where photographs, stories, poems, videos, musical compositions, and other documentations by LAND-artproject collaborators can be viewed.  This version of North, South, and the In Between now exists only in cyberspace until the next land exhibition or the poem is published in print. 

 

INSERT EXAMPLE OF INSTALLATION

A high-five to Rex Garcia (aka DJR3X) for working in collaboration with the LAND-artproject collaborators to produce individual and unique digital compositions for each of the storytellers/poets.  Rex was also present at the opening reception at the Manhattan Beach Gallery, in Manhattan Beach, CA where the LAND-artproject premiered.  Only documentations of his live performance now exist on the LAND-artproject.com website and this website.

The photographic imagery along side the poem is part of Laura Salinas Araujo’s research and gathering of imagery to convey her story with photographs of the present that can represent the past.  The newer version of the project’s photographic interactive land documentation was taken by Jacalyn Lopez Garcia and is shown above with an embedded QR code.
